Back in the ER overnight with Roger. Apparently Rover's heart ablation was not completely successful. According to the doctor he now has A fib which occurs in about 20% of the SVT cases. Now we go back to the cardiologist, but for now the episodes seem to be controlled with an increase in Lopressor dosage.

The whirlwind is over. We are back from Jamestown legally married! With retirement only two weeks ago and a wedding, I am trying hard to decompress. We had 17 family members on the bus/limo and a few more who met us there. My eldest son was my best man and Roger's best friend was his. All of our family was there to support us. The ceremony was very simple, but met our needs completely. The park setting was gorgeous as was the weather. It was as good as we could have imagined. Everything went perfectly and we were back home by 10 PM. We are old-lol.

Today begins my last week at the library.  The last 17 years seem to have flown by.  I'll be glad to not work anymore, but I still feel kind of sad to be leaving.  On a more down notem, Kaiser rejected Roger when he appled to them for an individual policy since Ohio won't let me carry him on mine when I retire even thought he's been on my group plan for years.  I'm not sure what kind of options we have, but I believe that he'll qualify for COBRA which is outrageously expensive.  Hopefull, when the exchanges kick in in October, we'll be able to find something better and cheaper.
All the wedding plans seem to be solidified.  Everything has been reserved, ordered, and paid for.  All we have to do is get on the bus (I hope).  September could be a good month.

After almost 22 years together, Roger and I will be traveling to Jamestown New York on September 14th to finally get married.  To bad it won't be legal in Ohio, but that may be changing.  I will also be officially retiring from the library on August 31st.  I'm more than excited!!.

It's been a hell of a fight, but Roger seems to be cured of his ventricular tachycardia.  The ablation at the Cleveland Clinic did the trick.

I've got 45 minutes left here at work and then I'm off for a week.  Off to the store tonight to get some groceries, then the card store for cards to put my gift cards in.  Tonight I need to wrap three presents for my grandson Mikey, and then I'm going to bake some apple pies for tomorrow and Sunday.  Tomorrow we go to Dave's for his 40th birthday and Christmas Eve.  Sunday we're going to Roger's niece's house for Christmas dinner, so I don't have to cook all weekend, YAY!  I got Roger a gift certificate for a massage for Christmas.  We weren't going to do presents this year, since we're barely getting by, but I thought he needed it.  Hope everyone has a happy holiday in whichever way you celebrate.

Roger's job prospects are looking up.  He's in the running for a job with the IRS as a customer service rep.  He applied (actually me) in June and took the on line test in August.  He scored in the Superior qualified group which puts him at the top of the list.   We got an email from the iRS last Friday with a bunch of forms to be filled out and faxed back.  They were all employment forms like the Direct Deposit signup and W-4, but they made sure to state that the email was not a job offer.  Apparently they want all of the forms on file before they do a telephone interview and then make a selection.  I don't think they would go through all that if they weren't actively considering him for the position.  All the forms are in now, so we'll wait for the scheduling of the "telephone assessment".

for Roger's family.  Last night his nephew was in a serious car accident with all  three of his children.  They had to be lifeflighted to two different hospitals.  We don't have a lot of info yet, but I know that Jeremy ( his nephew) had surgery last night to repair his diaphragm which had been pushed up into his chest cavity.  He was in recovery last night around midnight.  Jeremy's son was treated for bruised ribs and released.  His daughter has a broken leg and some internal chest injuries and was on a respirator last night waiting for surgery.  His youngest daughter, who is at a different hospital, is also on a respirator and we don't know anything about her condition.  Roger's brother Dwight, Jeremy's father, was at the hospital last night, but is not in any condition to help.  He is the brother who is disabled and whose wife died suddenly last December.  He doesn't seem to be able to catch a break.  I'm at work now, hopefully will hear more as the day goes on.

Been working on some genealogy lately.   I found out yesterday that Roger is a first cousin 9 times removed to George Washington.  When I told him, he said it was silly, but I think that it's  fascinating.  It doesn't really mean anything, but it's kind of nice to know that you have a personal connection to a historical figure.  My family is mostly from Europe, and it's much harder to trace anyone.
