Joe Hill

I'm glad that I'm leaving work at 5:30 today. We're having an author visit tonight; Joe Hill, son of Stephen King, will be flying in to do a reading, talk about his writing, and sell some books. We've got over 300 people registered for the event, and barely enough room to seat them all. Someone must have leaned on the fire marshal, because our meeting room is only rated for 150. We've got a video feed for the overflow in another small conference room, but I don't think that will be enough if everyone shows up. We usually have a 20% no show for any event, but I think this one will be different. Luckily I will be home safe and warm by the time it begins.

Funny - when I saw "Joe Hill" I thought immediately of the labor leader - and that's only because I used to play the Woodstock album over and over!

Actually one of the other librarians offered to sing that song as a welcome for the author. The offer was politely declined.
